First LGBTQ+ History Class at HCA

Pictured are a few brave students who joined in our first LGBTQ+ History class at HCA holding some examples of the work they did together.  Through a combination of GLSEN, OUT MAINE and some other great resources we did a trimester long dive into the trail- blazing, barrier-breaking stories of LGBTQ+ identified people in the history of the United States. When asked students to sum up how they felt about what we’d discovered together as a class with one word here’s some of what I got: happy, frustrated, angry, seen, proud.

LGBTQ+ history class is fundraising for a Pride Flag for our Brunswick Campus. We are accepting bottles for a bottle drive for the next two weeks.
